So yesterday was woefully uneventful. I went to class and then I washed my hair. Oodles of fun and joy. But I do have a small confession to make; I am never buying American hair products again. I bought this Parisian shampoo--DONE. I had that hair you only see on hair commercials. Oh yeah, be jealous.
Today we went to the Musee d'Orsay. It's a converted train station built in 1900. I had Madame L. again, though, so it was another day of the buchering of fine art.

But then all was fine and good, because we were dismissed at 4. :-)
So Obama is pretty much golden here. I went to Cruz, and everyone was like "Yes, We Can!" And I was sitting there like dude, the election ended 5 months ago.
But they really like him, and one girl explained to me that American is a superpower, and what we do really affects the world. Our bad government choices set the pace for the rest of the nations, so that is why everyone really hated Bush. For example, global warming? Bush said we weren't going to do anything about it. The rest of the world suffered for his decision. But everyone is really happy now, because Obama is going to acknowledge global warming and try to prevent and reverse further damages. Now the world will follow.
It was really surprising to me, because in America we really live in our own little bubble. We think what we do only affects us, and also, we have no concern for the politics in other countries. Who in America knows who Nicholas Sarkozy is? (FYI, he's the French President). But everyone in Europe knows all about America; My host mom informed me over dinner what's going on in Washington this week. Maybe if Americans took the time to not be so American and to care about the rest of the world, we could do a lot of good; even with our recessed economy we're still richer than 98% of the human population.
But I suppose that's just not the American way--Individualism and all that.
Just food for thought.
A bientot!
